Innovative Housing Programs for Returning Citizens

(Washington, D.C.) – The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC)  is pleased to release the “Gun Violence Reduction Strategic Plan,” compiled by the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform (NICJR).

The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC)  is pleased to release the “Gun Violence Reduction Strategic Plan,” compiled by the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform (NICJR). CJCC commissioned NICJR to develop a proposed strategic plan for reducing gun violence in the District as a follow up to the “Gun Violence Problem Analysis Summary Report,” released by CJCC in the Spring.

Join us for a discussion of the Gun Violence Reduction Strategic Plan prepared and proposed by the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform. David Muhammad, NICJR Director, will go over the details of the Plan. Linda Harllee-Harper, who currently serves as the Director of the District of Columbia's Office of Gun Violence Prevention will then brief attendees on the efforts currently underway to stop gun violence in the District of Columbia. Audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions.

District of Columbia CJCC Receives JRSA Award for Research and Policy Analysis

(Washington, D.C.) – The District of Columbia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) was honored to receive the Douglas Yearwood National Publication Award, presented by the Justice Research and Statistics Association (JRSA). The award was presented to the SAC for its work on A Study of the Root Causes of Juvenile Justice System Involvement, published in November 2020. Dr, Katilyn Sill, who served as  a statistician with the CJCC, authored the study.
