The CJCC Criminal Justice Summit (CJS) is an annual gathering of criminal justice professionals and stakeholders across the criminal justice continuum to engage in evidence-based training and collaboration. This year’s theme was “Paving the Way to the New Normal – Violence Prevention Strategies That Work.” 

Last fall, CJCC convened a public meeting, “Creating the New Normal: A Community Conversation Examining Patterns of Thought and Action to Avert Violence”. In December 2018, CJCC’s members agreed during the Annual Strategic Planning meeting that reducing shootings in the District of Columbia would be the agency’s focus goal in 2019. The public meeting and agencies’ strategy planning meeting served as the impetus for CJCC’s 3rd Annual Criminal Justice Summit.
