7th Annual Juvenile Justice Summit Thursday, July 21, 2016
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for the District of Columbia’s Juvenile Justice Committee hosted the 7th Annual Juvenile Justice Summit at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. This year’s theme was: Restorative Justice, A Bridge to Improving Education and Justice for Youth. The goals of the Summit are to (1) reduce the incidence of juvenile delinquency and recidivism, (2) restore youth, families and communities impacted by crime, and (3) preserve the effective administration of justice.
This year was unique in that it marked the first time we have partnered with the DC Deputy Mayor for Education’s office to promote the event and encourage educators and school administrators to participate. We were pleased to have our education system partners involved this year and designed the Summit with our diverse stakeholders in mind.
