The CJCC Criminal Justice Summit (CJS) is an annual gathering of criminal justice professionals and stakeholders across the criminal justice continuum to engage in evidence-based training and collaboration. This year’s theme was “Mental Health at the Intersection: Exploring Best Practices for Addressing the Mental Health Needs of Adults in the Criminal Justice System.” Mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders are highly prevalent among individuals throughout the criminal justice system continuum. Agencies and practitioners at all stages of the criminal justice system face the challenge of responding effectively to the needs of these persons.
