Peace for DC, a District of Columbia community impact fund, commissioned NICJR to conduct an analysis of the cost of homicides and shootings in the District. The report examined the cost of gun violence in the District of Columbia, including costs to taxpayers.

The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) is pleased to release the “Gun Violence Reduction Strategic Plan,” compiled by the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform (NICJR). There are two major issues facing our country:
1)The spread of COVID-19, a particularly contagious and deadly virus, that has disproportionately affected minority communities
2) The persistent call for racial justice following the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd at the hands of former or current law enforcement officers
