The Prearrest Diversion Taskforce, convened at the CJCC, has released a report on their recommendations for implementing prearrest diversion of certain misdemeanor crimes in the District of Columbia.

The Secure DC Omnibus Amendment Act of 2024 established the Prearrest Diversion Task Force within the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to develop recommendations for creating a prearrest diversion program in the District. 

Participating agencies include: CJCC, DC Council, DCSC, DBH, MPD, OAG, DMHHS, PSA, USAO, as well as community organisations: Community Bridges, Community Connections, and Unity Health Care.
