JGA Announces Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) and Request for Information (RFI)

Up to $475,000 is available in grant funds to promote a focused, coordinated community response to violent crime in the Mayor’s Focused Improvement Areas (FIAs).

(Washington, DC) The Office of the City Administrator/Justice Grants Administration (JGA) announces the availability of up to $475,000 in grant funds to promote a focused, coordinated community response to violent crime in the Mayor’s Focused Improvement Areas (FIAs) The mission of the FIA pilot initiative is to reduce criminal activity and increase quality of life in at-risk communities by combining community-policing efforts with the coordinated delivery of human services. The goal of the CBVRF is to reduce violence by encouraging collaborative efforts between communities and law enforcement, prosecution, judiciary, and private, nonprofit victim services agencies to address violence in at-risk communities.  Program design should reflect familiarity with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Comprehensive Gang Model and a commitment to collaborating with District of Columbia Government Agencies. Interested, eligible applicants should also plan programs that include solicitation and adoption of community feedback to ensure that community needs are reflected in program design.   

Eligibility: Nonprofit and community-based organizations

Funds: $475,000 is available for 2-5 awards

RFA Availability: The Request for Applications (RFA) will be available September 15th on the websites for the Justice Grants Administration (http://jga.oca.dc.gov) and the Office of Partnerships and Grant Services District Grants Clearinghouse (http://opgs.dc.gov).

Deadline: October 20, 2008
