5th Annual Juvenile Justice Summit

The CJCC, along with juvenile justice stakeholders, staff working with system-involved youth, community-based organizations, parent and youth leaders, hosted the fifth annual Juvenile Justice Summit. This juvenile justice summit attracted over 600 participants and over 100 youth and adults for the Youth Leadership Track.

The Summit goals included how to use information sharing, evidence based training, and collaboration to (1) reduce the incidence of juvenile delinquency and recidivism, (2) restore youth, families and communities impacted by crime, and (3) preserve the effective administration of justice.

The Summit explored a variety of topics, including a walkthrough of the juvenile justice system, the impact of implicit bias on your everyday decisions, the paths that lead youth to delinquency, and a workshop entitled “How to do this work without losing your mind,” to name a few. In addition, Summit attendees will have the opportunity to address pressing policy issues and network with peer professionals from various government, private, and non-profit juvenile justice agencies.
